The Kostroma seaman.

A seafaring man from Kostroma

Was wearing a white wool pullover.

With lunch in his pocket,

Of beans, eggs and choc'late,

Rice, peas and raspberry pavlova.

The student from Volgarechensk.

A student from Volgarechensk

Left home without pencils or pens.

So he couldn't do maths

Or draw houses or paths

Or write love letters under his desk.

The Volga Fishermen.

The Volga was frozen and cold,

But the fishermen fish; they are bold.

They jiggle their line,

For a fourth fish - quite fine,

Then sell them for gold I am told.
